Our history of innovation
Xerox has a proud tradition of pioneering research and continues to be at the forefront of innovation. Chester Carlson's invention of xerography more than 70 years ago was a remarkable milestone in the development of the modern information age, as people could now share and access information much more easily. Xerox has a rich history of innovation. As the inventors of Ethernet more than 30 years ago, we helped lay the foundation for the modern Internet. In fact, few people know that the first commercialization of Ethernet occurred as a communications bus in our publishing systems in the early 1990s. Our legacy of innovation continues to thrive. We have been issued more than 50 thousand patents around the world and 2 patents are issued every day. This is a clear indication of the creative and innovative spirit of our scientists and engineers.
Creating a Collaborative Office of the Future in Cary, North Carolina
The North Carolina Center of Excellence continues Xerox's tradition of defining the modern work experience. The facility, which opened in September 2020, is the new home of Xerox Digital eXperience (XDX) IT and other research and development (R&D) functions. The center leverages the latest technology and layout to create a collaborative environment that fosters innovation. Xerox is working on new opportunities, including solutions to some of the biggest challenges affecting business and the world. This facility will allow Xerox employees to create and improve technologies that will shape the future of Xerox. The North Carolina Center of Excellence is also a place where customers can see and experience new technologies that Xerox is bringing to market.
Knowledge integrity and objectivity are at the core of Xerox ® Analytical Services.
We provide the scientific community with state of the art microanalytical capabilities, including microscopy, chromatography, spectroscopy and structural analysis. We support research and development (R&D), manufacturing, problem solving and quality control.
Our recommended method: nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
We are proud to offer NMR, an analytical service that is widely used in industry, primarily in chemical, pharmaceutical, synthetic organics, polymers, etc. It is an important tool for determining:
Structures of unknown organic materials, both small molecules and polymers
Quantitative composition of mixtures
Mechanisms of chemical reactions
Molecular dynamics, diffusion and morphology
NMR can also be used in several ways, including but not limited to:
Problem solving, local support, supply assurance, new materials and processes
Characterize chemical structure and impurities
Provide mechanistic understanding of synthetic processes
Validation of synthetic procedures
Product development support.
Supplier qualification and quality control
Provide data to determine product specifications
Characterize and quantify the composition and purity of the product.
Examples of Xerox Analytics Services
In addition to NMR, we offer more than 30 different methods, including:
Quantitative determination of extractable chemicals using liquid chromatography with ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (LC/UV/MS)
Quantification of elemental composition (bulk and trace levels) using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy
Determination of material purity by NMR, LC/UV/MS and/or gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS)
Analysis of molecular weight distribution using gel permeation chromatography (GPC)
Characterization of polymer curing using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
Why Xerox Analytical Services
From our valued experts to next-generation equipment, Xerox Analytical Services offers unmatched analysis and results, plus:
Our competitive prices are significantly lower than similar services offered by other analytical laboratories. We charge a flat rate of $250 per hour of analyst time, regardless of time spent on a technique or tool.
Faster turnaround times
Typically, we can achieve results in two weeks or less. This time depends on the tool's backlog and uptime.
Full range of analytical services
Our range of services includes routine testing, method development, production quality control, problem solving, analytical R&D outsourcing and custom design across all industries. We also offer special services such as odor analysis.
